It’s Saturday morning in Skillman, New Jersey. We should all be asleep still or watching the cartoons, but instead we’re soldering. It’s only five days from Bag’n'Tag, and even so, we are still working on the last minute changes to the robot—the basketball launcher, the failsafes, the motors.
All is silent as the mechanical sub team performs the final round of tests. The robot whips forward and seamlessly dunks the three basketballs into the hoop, one after the other. We cheer, and somebody pops the cork off a bottle of sparkling apple cider. Nobody knows why.
Ladies and gentlemen, Cougar Robotics is made up of moments like these. A hard-working team, and so much more.
